The local chapter of CAIR (Committee on American Islamic Relations; St. Louis,MO), condemned the actions that took place in Mumbai, India on Nov. 25, 2008. As always, attacks on civilians were condemned. Such attacks are not the Sunnah of our Prophet Muhammed (SAW) and unIslamic. Condemnations should be put in the context of the root cause(s) of the actions.

Without proper investigation and adequate information, caution must prevail. Are there connections between this action and India's involvement in Afghanistan? Was this a counter to India's attacks on Somali "pirates"? Whatever the reasons are, India's government is far from innocent in dealing unjustly with Muslims.

The targetting of Americans and other westerners in one of the wealthiest parts of India draws attention. The murder, raping and terrorizing of Somalia by U.S.-backed Ethiopian troops received absolutely no attention from western media outlets. Secular human rights organizations have described the Somali holocaust as worse than the atrocities committed in Darfur. Imperialism is a school which teaches the Believers how to gain the world's attention. But those criticizing these actions as terrorist (without proper investigation) aren't really against terrorism. If they were, they would condemn the illegal invasion and occupation of Somalia by Ethiopia (at the order of U.S. imperialism).
