The way I undestand this is that

Unity is when something is one.

Sectarianism is when something is divided in to smaller bits or sections.

So the two are opposites and you cant have the two at the same time. It's like night and day' the two are inversely proportional. So which one are you. Personally I don't want unity because I want to be a Hanafi muslim. No particular resaon, I could have chosen any one.
