My dearest Brothers and sisters,

Elites have dismissed WikiLeaks as gossip. So much for freedom of the press and holding public officials to account. Power has its own incestuous web of apologists.

In the earlier posts on this matter some may have thought that it was just another bout of anti-Saudi influenza. Alas WikiLeaks have shown that indeed the Saudis, UAE and Egypt were as committed as Israel in wanting the USA to attack Iran.

Now this does not mean that I agree with everything that happens politically in Iran. On the contrary I hold strong reservations of human rights grounds. I also believe that the clergy should not have a bigger role in the political and economic processes of a country than any other citizens.

However, Suadi Arabia has funded an Iraqi war on Iran for eight years. Saudis have funded dictatorships in Africa for decades as part of the anti-communist/socialist Cold War political architecture. Much of the ideology of haterd that is practiced by Al-Qaeeda types have been funded by Saudi petro-dollars. Well-adjusted young people would leave for Saudi to do Islaimic studies and they would come home after a few yaesr with brain damage. This is bida'at and that is haraam. In Washington DC the Saudi Amabassador engineered the eviction of the only elected Imam of the mosque. The same Imam has been on the sidewalk for more than 25 years. You see with your own eyes the level of deviation on the part of the house of Saud. Those who are able to pray on the sidewalk for the past few deacdes are indeed fortunate. You are bearers of witness to the abuse of power and the ability of ordinary people to take a stand. People who may not change things but that does not discharge the responsibility to take a stand. If many do so with the millions of issues that face us on a daily basis from the credit crunch, bankers bailouts, cuts in social welfare spending, home reposessions etc then the world could be  a better place As Michael Jackson would say "For you and for me and the entire human race ..." (Sorry to those who do not like music or Michale Jackson)

Forget about what is said about Muslims being one body and pain, about being a solid cemented structure, about waking up in the morning with care in one's heart for other Muslims. This is about power in its most undiluted forms. This family, like the rest of the Arab rulers are interested in nothing other than power. There is very little that they will not do to gain and remain in power.

If it means that they have to fund another attack against Iran then it will be a small price to pay. About accountability in the hereafter, that is not as big an issue as we may think. There may just be a place of immunity that had been secured by one of their earthly allies there. They can always try to seek assylum.
